New Third Way Launches New Project on Sustainable Mining Practices With The Support of Embassy Of Canada

New Third Way (Novi treći put) has officially launched a new project dedicated to analyzing and promoting sustainable mining practices, implemented with the support of the Embassy of Canada to Serbia through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
Over the coming months, our team will examine international standards for responsible mining, focusing on Canadian experiences and best practices that can inform public policy improvements in Serbia.
Research Overview and Objectives
The research initiative will systematically evaluate environmental protection, community relations, transparency, natural resource governance, and the social sustainability of mining projects. In collaboration with local and international experts, New Third Way will synthesize these insights into a comprehensive analytical study.
The final findings will be presented at a dedicated public event to engage policymakers, civil society, industry experts, and the public in a data-driven dialogue on sustainable resource management.
Publication and Next Steps
The complete analytical study will be published by the end of 2026 and will be made accessible on our official platform.
This project is supported by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) of the Embassy of Canada to Serbia. The views expressed through the project represent solely the views of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official positions of the Government of Canada or the Embassy of Canada.
